Fishing Report 8/1/2021

Hard to believe it is August already! As most of you know July was wet, really wet. Because of this the rivers have been at record highs. We have spent the past few weeks honing in popper skills with clients on local lakes and ponds, targeting Large mouth bass, panfish and pickerel. Hooking into a Blue gill the size of a dinner plate will put a smile on any anglers face, not to mention it is great practice for casting and hook setting.

The good news is it looks as though the water levels are coming down! We were able to get 2 days on the river chasing trout with water temps in the 60s last week and they were very hungry. Its safe to say that the smallmouth bass and pike will be in the same type of heavy feeding regime the next few weeks as the water level comes down on the river.

We still have a good chunk of summer left and all of us here at Berkshire Rivers Fly Fishing hope you are enjoying it to the fullest!
