Fishing Report 5/1/2022

This past week has been fantastic for trout fishing. We had a couple cooler, windy days but clients have been on the fish! This weekend the weather was fantastic and the water temperatures and levels were great for wading and floating. The water is just over 50 degrees now. The smallmouth bass are starting to wake up and get into their prespawn feeding frenzy as well.

Earlier on in the week the streamers were the hot ticket. There numerous very hungry and aggressive trout hammering streamers. As the levels dropped nymphing was on fire. The river is loaded with stoneflies and the fish were hungry! There has been numerous hatches going on but we still have not seen much action from fish eating on the surface. Most likely the next few weeks will be dry fly time!

Our weekends are filling up, so give us a ring and book a float or wade for some beautiful trout!
