Fishing Report 4/17/2022

Like the weather, the spring fishing is heating up! The trout on our local waters are starting to feed and we have had quite a few very successful trips already this past week. We are always diligently watching the weather and water levels of the rivers and it looks like we may get some rain Monday evening into Tuesday, but the extended forecast looks dry and warm!

We have had the most luck throwing streamers the past week. With the warmer day time temps the water temperature has been rising and getting the fish active. The attacks have been very aggressive. We have been seeing a lot of insect activity on the surface but not many fish eating them yet. Nymphing has also proved successful over the past few weeks.

Our weekends are filling up fast for the rest of the month and we still a few midweek days available so get a hold of us if you’d like to get out on the water!

Weather shouldn’t necessarily be a deterrent from fishing (unless extreme), but knowing what to expect from the weather is important for any good fisherman.
